Sheri has practiced exclusively in the area of management-side employment and labour law since her call to the Bar. She provides strategic advice to employers, both unionized and non-unionized, in all employment and labour law matters.

A significant portion of Sheri’s practice involves representing employers in the hotel and hospitality industry in negotiations of collective agreements, defence of grievances and defence of wrongful dismissal claims. She also represents numerous clients in the construction industry, including both contractors and contractor associations. Sheri draws upon her wealth of experience previously gained at a National law firm to provide advice to clients in the high-tech sector, both as counsel in day to day human resource issues and as counsel to investors and acquirers on due diligence and successor employer issues. She is experienced in the representation of employers in human rights proceedings, employment standards complaints, federal and provincial labour board proceedings, occupational health and safety matters, workers’ compensation matters and in regard to union organizing drives.

Sheri regularly speaks to organizations on a variety of employment and labour topics including recent presentations on discipline and discharge, disability and accommodation, employer liability, performance management for front-line supervisors, changes to employment standards, collective bargaining in the hotel/hospitality industry and recent important amendments to construction industry ICI collective agreements.
